What to Expect
As a Student Quantitative Analyst, you will:
- Research & Signal Generation: Analyse price patterns, order-book dynamics, and external factors to identify tradeable signals
- Model Implementation & Backtesting: Build robust backtest frameworks, calculate performance metrics
- Live Trading Support: Assist with trade execution scripts, monitor strategy health, and implement risk controls
- Machine Learning & Optimization: Experiment with supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement-learning methods to enhance signal quality
- Data Engineering & Automation: Develop ETL pipelines for real-time and historical data: automate model retraining and reporting
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the trading desk to refine execution tactics and adapt strategies to evolving market conditions
- This role blends desk experience with analytical exploration – perfect for a student eager to grow as both trader and quantitative thinker
What We’re Looking For
- Academic Background: Currently enrolled in a degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or ar elated quantitative field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and its ecosystem of data and machine-learning libraries. Understanding of statistics, time-seris analysis, and probability
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically under uncertainty
- Team Player: Excellent communication skills, willingness to ask questions, and openness to feedback
- Self-Starter and Curious: Eager to learn and take ownership of projects, learn on the job, and adapt to a fast-paced startup environment
- Nice to Have: Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). Prior exposure to algorithmic trading or financial markets
